Nelson Mandela used to say... "When you are behind bars and have no chance of freedom, you have to find the strength to carry on... I personally found the strength in Michael. Even today, Michael is a constant source of inspiration.... ❤️❤️
on 20th July 1996, Michael gave a short press conference together with Nelson Mandela in Pretoria. when he revealed details of a special concert.
The pop star hopes to raise millions for charity, including the Nelson Mandela Children''s Fund, when he stages two concerts later this year in Munich and Seoul.Michael announced this after a meeting with President Nelson Mandela at the presidential residence, Genadendal today.
He said Mandela was his inspiration and he wanted to do something for him before the end of the century. He said he would invite some of his friends to join him at either one or both concerts scheduled in Seoul, South Korea on June 25, and Munich, Germany, two days later.
He said he had spoken to Mandela earlier in the year, at which time they had discussed the "concept of giving".
His new song "What more can I give?" would be dedicated to the Nelson Mandela Children''s Fund. The money raised would be donated to the Nelson Mandela Children''s Fund, the International Red Cross and the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation.
Asked how much he hoped to raise, his spokesman said they would be asking people to give "and however much they can give is how much we can give".
