Our second celebration today goes out to the popular (and fan favorite) Bubbles!
Bubbles was born in a biomedical lab sometime in 1983, then he spent time with a Hollywood trainer before he was given to Michael Jackson as a pet.
Bubbles spent his early years touring the world and making appearances on television and music shows. As he got older he was unable to be handled and was sent back to the Hollywood trainer.
Bubbles arrived at the sanctuary in 2005 with a group of chimpanzees. Many of those chimpanzees are still a part of his group today (Oopsie, Boma, and Jessie). Ripley is also part of the group and is Bubbles' best friend. Bubbles is our current "resident artist" and loves to spend his time painting for enrichment.
