The year 1993 found a cultural change for the Russian people with Michael Jackson being the first western entertainer to perform in their country. Prior to that, music from the western world was banned. “The reality of these limitations forced on the people by censorship would ensure that western artists had no audience in eastern countries. Michael became a legend among the people, fueled by the limited exposure they had of him.” (ICONIC MAGAZINE)
