In fact, Michael is not heard or seen. Michael feels! It is not something that comes from outside to inside - from sounds or images - it is something that comes from inside to outside: literally from soul to soul, because being a fan of Michael is something so surreal, so different, so unusual and so inexplicable! And it is this inexplicable feeling that makes them more than fans, true soldiers. Being a fan of Michael is a state of mind. Being Michael's soldier is a mission. Here I include myself, and here are not conjectures. It's real.

The empathy between stage and audience is so dense and profound that it accompanies them to home, work, school, life as a whole. Michael is not only on the bedroom wall, he sleeps with the fans. His voice does not only echo from the speakers of the stereo, it echoes from the bowels of each one, as if he were part of everyone. It's like it runs through your veins all the time.

It is not idolatry, it is not fanaticism; if we look at it from the perspective of the five senses, it is closer to obsession; but it goes much deeper than that: it is the transcendental relationship of the disciples with their teacher. Gratifying, conflicting, disconcerting, intoxicating ... we run out of vocabulary to define what, perhaps, is in itself indefinable. Better to feel.

Michael's fans fill stadiums of any size and sell out any amount of tickets in a few hours. And that has been happening for at least 40 years. Michael's fans sleep in line for a ticket, for the mad rush in search of a place closer to the stage. Sleep at the hotel door with a simple hand shake - and what a hand! - Or that famous note written “I Love you”. With luck, a pillow that flies out the window, or a towel full of messages ... oh, the colorful balloons that go up with little messages and descend with the loving response.
