"As a friend, I spent a great amount of time in the recording studio with him, we always had children with us and were always laughing and playing between recording sessions. He brought a lot of joy in people lives. I grew up in Belgium raised by my dad who, as a chief of police, taught me to always be suspicious and I can tell you that I couldn’t see anything wrong with Michael, except maybe that it was a man who at a young age never had the time to be a kid. He told me once that children are pure and innocent and adults always want something from him. That’s the sole reason he felt more comfortable with children, they just loved him because he was magic for the kids and made them feel like giants. He loathed vulgarity and would have been upset at me laughing with a dirty joke in the studio.
He built a movie theatre for disabled children in his house. People are sick to think he did that to attract them as a child molester. They judge without knowing and should be ashamed because they largely contributed to his downfall and his death. Michael Jackson was hypersensitive, maybe it was the key of his huge talent. He suffered tremendously of all these false accusations and the slanders that were spread. These unscrupulous persons took everything away from him, including his amazing career.
He was a genius and an amazing talent already at a young age. Nobody can judge him without knowing him. If one of you had spent only one hour with him, you would have fallen in love with his pure heart. He could make everybody around him feel special. He was even thanking you for working with him, and had definitely not a big star attitude, he was down to earth, lived on a healthy diet, never drank alcohol. The day of my birthday party in Tokyo he took my glass of champagne away from me and replaced it by a glass of water. He was not joking he just cared for people.

Ieri 19 luglio 2024 è venuta a mancare Sheila Jackson Lee Ex Rappresentante degli Stati Uniti d'America, politica e avvocato e membro della Camera dei Rappresentanti per lo stato del Texas morta a 74 anni combatteva contro un cancro.
Michael Jackson visitò Capitol Hill, dove incontrò la congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee e un numero di ambasciatori africani per discutere le questioni relative all'AIDS in Africa a Washington il 31 marzo 2004.
La rappresentante Sheila Jackson Lee, che stava sponsorizzando una risoluzione per onorare Michael Jackson [nessuna parentela con i Jackson]pronunciò a Los Angeles un elogio funebre che suonò un po' come una risposta al video di Peter King
"Posso dirvi che come membro del Congresso degli Stati Uniti, comprendiamo la Costituzione, comprendiamo le leggi e sappiamo che le persone sono innocenti fino a prova contraria", disse Jackson Lee, riferendosi all'assoluzione del Re del Pop dalle accuse di molestie.
"Questo è ciò che rappresenta la Costituzione".
"L'America vi apprezza e vi ringrazia per la vita di Michael Jackson", disse alla famiglia Jackson, mostrando una copia incorniciata di una proposta di legge della Camera. "Per questo motivo, abbiamo presentato alla Camera dei Rappresentanti la Risoluzione 600, che sarà discussa in Aula, che rivendica Michael Jackson come leggenda americana e icona musicale, un umanitario mondiale - qualcuno che sarà onorato per sempre, per sempre e per sempre".
La rappresentante Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) rappresentò il Congresso alla cerimonia di commemorazione di Michael Jackson a Los Angeles il 7 Luglio 2009.
Lee, parlando allo Staples Center, ha elogiato Jackson per il suo impatto sul mondo.
"Molte persone non capiscono il cuore di un artista", “Non sanno quanto sia grande il loro cuore. Non sanno come guariscono il mondo a nome dell'America. Quando siamo in guerra, icone come Michael cantano di guarire il mondo. E così, ci ha chiamati al servizio pubblico".
Lee, che introdusse una risoluzione alla Camera in onore di Jackson, affrontò anche le accuse che hanno afflitto Jackson nel corso degli anni e le osservazioni del deputato Peter King (R-N.Y.) che criticò Jackson.
"Posso dirvi che come membro del Congresso degli Stati Uniti", disse , "comprendiamo la legge e sappiamo che le persone sono innocenti fino a prova contraria, questo è ciò che la Costituzione rappresenta".
"Perciò oggi sono in lutto", ha proseguito.
Lee ha anche elogiato Jackson per il suo lavoro umanitario.
"Michael si è battuto per la tolleranza di tutte le persone", ha detto. Michael ha combattuto la buona battaglia... Michael non ha mai smesso di dare".
"Per questo motivo, il 25 giugno 2009, il Congressional Black Caucus e la Camera dei Rappresentanti si sono fermati, si sono fermati, si sono fermati e hanno avuto un momento di silenzio per questa meravigliosa leggenda e icona"

Гарет всъщност планира да направи римейк на песента в бърза денс версия на тази песен, която ще бъде пусната по същото време като нейните мемоари. Пълен албум ще подкрепи издаването на книгата през 2025 г.
