A HALLOWEEN STORY...

„Michael loved his children more than anything and he wanted them to have a childhood as normal as possible under the unique circumstances his family faces. One occasion I will never forget, was on Halloween Eve in 2003 when he asked me if we could go 'Trick-or-treating' with his children. We were in Las Vegas during that time and Michael decided to knock on doors for candies in North Las Vegas, one of the most dangerous areas of that city. Everyone knows that one should not be in that area when it gets dark without security, and even with security and during the day, it can be very dangerous at times. But Michael had set his mind and so we went. His children were dressed as spiderman and Princess but Michael decided to go as Michael Jackson, dressed in a black shirt and black trousers. I never thought that he would get away with it – but he did! The people who gave them candies admired his amazing „Michael Jackson costume“ and he and his kids laughed so much and had a great time.“

the tenth and final studio album was released by Epic Records.

It was Jackson's sixth studio album released through Epic.

Recorded between October 1997 and September 2001 at Hit Factory (New York City), Criteria (Miami), Marvin's Room (Los Angeles), Darkchild (Los Angeles), Record Plant (Los Angeles), Future Recording (Norfolk, Virginia), Sony (New York City), Record One (Los Angeles), A Touch of Jazz (Philadelphia), Brandon's Way Recording (Los Angeles) and Capitol (Hollywood).

The album became the fastest selling album and the most expensive album ever made. Jackson started the multi-genre production in 1997 and did not finish until eight weeks before the album's October 2001 release. It was reported that it cost $30 million to make the album, making it the most expensive album ever made.

There was no concert tour to promote Invincible. Michael Jackson refused to tour, adding to the already growing rift between him and Sony Music Entertainment. Following Sony's decision to abruptly end promotion for the album, Michael Jackson made allegations in July 2002 that Tommy Mottola was a "devil" and a "racist" who did not support his African-American artists but used them for personal gain.

Invincible debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart in the United States and in ten other countries worldwide. The album was certified double Platinum in January 2002 by The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and has sold over 8 million copies worldwide. The album's lead single, "You Rock My World", peaked at number ten on the US Billboard Hot 100 and was nominated for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance at the 2002 Grammy Awards.
